My plants are looking puny. Shouldn’t I be getting more than the occasional tomato by now? I’m going to have to find a place to put them where they don’t get quite as much sun. Sure, they need sun, but the kind of heat we have been getting may be a bit too much sun.
I’m also going to pick up an organic fertilizer tomorrow while I am out and about. It just feels like they need more than what I have been giving them. Yes, a gut instinct, but probably a good one.
And … the invisible rabbits attacked again. Thankfully, they leave my container garden alone, but all those flower seeds I planted, well what few sprouted have all been completely dug out and eaten root to leaf tip. Bastards. I know they are living under the house. I just know it. The clues are too obvious, and the biggest one is that something dug its way under the house in the front flowerbed at about the same time I started noticing things getting eaten in the front flowerbed … and the unmistakable signs of bunny poo. I can’t tell if it’s one bunny or more than one bunny, since no human eyes have actually seen the damn things yet.
They did leave the miniature morning glories alone. I guess I’ll just plant more of those. I wanted some sunflowers and marigolds too, but apparently that is too much to ask of the universe.
I’m off to Google to find something to dissuade the little beasts of destroying my feeble attempts at growing flowers. I suck at flowers badly enough without furry night visitors chewing up everything I get going.
