Stitch in Time

Wheee!

While I was sitting here playing solitaire and eating my soup, I noticed something dangling around in my mouth and reached in to check it out. It was the suture on that part of my gum that had already pulled all the way together, and it fell out on my finger. That answers the question I was going to call the surgeon’s office about in the morning: whether they had used dissolving sutures or not. Who wouldn’t, right? But it would be one way to make sure people come in for a follow-up visit.

While I liked the surgeon’s office very much and thought they were all great people, that doesn’t mean I trust them not to want to bilk me for another $200 just to take a new set of x-rays, look in my mouth and declare everything fine. Sure, it would probably be a good idea to go back, but a) even I can tell everything is going well with the healing and b) I’d rather spend the $200 I don’t have going back to the other dentist to get those few small fillings done. Those of us without endless supplies of cash have to be practical about this kind of stuff.

I’d also like to say that one stitch coming out has made that side of my mouth feel about 50% better.

Yeah, how much more boring can I be than non-stop updates about the health of my mouth? Sorry, I know it must be dull to read about, but it one of the biggest health things I have gone through, and it isn’t like there’s much else going on with me right now. Pretty much, my mouth and its health is the only news around Casa de Orb.
