Flash Boom

Every so often, you run across a story in the news about something really, really weird. This time it’s about loud booms and bright lights in Pikesville, Maryland. Though the headline indicates they are closer to an explanation, they aren’t. They have eliminated just about every one of the easy possibilities, and that leaves them not really knowing what’s causing it. It’s really, really weird. I suggest you watch the video. Yeah … weird.

    I think I read to day some where on the interweb, that they found out that some guy who’s house was loaded with illegal things, ( drugs and stuff) was actually shooting fireworks ( artillery shells) out of his window . what a dumb ass

    I just read about that this morning. How stupid. What’s really stupid, I think, is that it’s been going on intermittently for two years, and it took the people living there that long plus all the cop work to figure out what was causing it. We have several neighbors who for no apparent holiday-related reason, set off loud fireworks from time to time. Not quite as loud as these, mind you, but loud enough to disturb me. I knew exactly which house it was coming from two months after we moved here.

    The only reason I have forgiven them is because on the appropriate fireworks holidays, they put on a fantastic show I get to watch from my back yard. Totally illegal, of course, but none of us complain. It’s easier than driving downtown to see great fireworks.
