Must Love Coffee

I have had it. That’s it. I have to find some way I too can enjoy coffee, because I am sick to death of all that work and no reward. Oh sure, sure, there’s a man zipping about the house sipping tall, hot, caffeinated beverages, but that’s not really doing much for me. Since I can’t very well stop making coffee for the man, unless I want the order of the entire universe to fall apart, I have to find some way I too can enjoy coffee.

Have I ever mentioned that I loath coffee? It’s true. I have never tasted any form of coffee that I liked, but I will admit, my experience has been limited. I have, for example, never been inside a Starbucks. The menu intimidates me.

Yes, I have to learn to love coffee, because the morning coffee ritual is bringing me down. Maybe a cup of coffee would perk me up!

Blech.

Go to Starbucks today and order what I call a froo-froo coffee. I suggest either a caramel macchiatto or a cinnamon dolce latte. They are sweet and milky rather than heavy coffee. Basically with these coffees, there is more creamer than coffee. HEB sells some decent creamers (Irish Creme, Chocolate Caramel, Hazelnut, etc). I can’t remember the names of the companies that sell them (One has the word ‘international’ in it) but I use these and I drink coffee almost every morning to jumpstart me into the day. I use about 1.5 servings of creamer per cup, but I don’t use any extra sugar. These are sweet enough for me.

If neither of these two work for pushing you over the Colombian roast precipice, then nothing will.

Their prices are crazy, but their caramel macchiato is worth it. I’ve only tried two of their coffees, a cold drink with chocolate bits in it and the caramel one.

What’s amazing is that five people all suggested the exact same drink to me. I guess that’s the one I better try! I’ve put it on the agenda for this weekend, if we happen to be by a Starbucks at some point.

Oh yes, their prices are outrageous, but if I can taste it (and like it) I can recreate it at home … or at least a good semblence of it.
