50/50

Here’s something that has been bugging me lately … the race issue in the presidential election.
Why is Obama considered black? Why isn’t he considered white? He’s 50/50, so you’d think he could be called either, but yet, everyone keeps going on about his being black. Almost makes it seem as though the old “one drop rule” is still in effect.
Race is such a stupid concept if you sit down and think about it. I wish more people would sit down and think about it. I love to look at all the varied skin colors, because I think they are all so beautiful, but that’s as far as it goes with me. The color of someone’s skin doesn’t tell me a damn thing about the person themselves. Also … how boring would it be if we all looked the same?!
Anyway, that’s been bugging me for a while now, and I just had to get it off my chest.

Stupidity is a major economic driver in this country. Without stupidity we wouldn’t have Wall St., Madison Ave., sub-prime, Iraq, credit cards, Chevrolet, Little Debbie, Jenny Craig, NASCAR, the Southern Baptist Convention and all the other things that distinguish us from the rest of the world. Are you ready for that?!
I’m probably more ready for it than your average American. In fact, it sounds like a nice place to live. Where do I sign up?
