Dremel Still Missing
March 12th, 2008 - 1:28 pm
The Dremel tool is nowhere in the house. I have now searched everywhere but the most difficult locations to rummage through on Lin’s side of the den, and it is nowhere to be found. I know the thing is in his toolbox on his work truck. Though it might be in the back of my truck. He still hasn’t moved all his work junk out of the bed yet. Guess I’ll check that when I go get the mail later. Anyway, I am bummed, because I really wanted to play with the Dremel today. If it isn’t in my truck, I’ll have to sneak out to his truck after he falls asleep tonight and steal it.
Why steal it? Because when I asked him last night where it was, he seemed hesitant for me to use the thing, which is completely ridiculous. I have used Dremels since I was a kid (my mom has ALL the attachments), and I have used his innumerable times since I gave it to him as a gift many years ago. Hell, I used to use it to buff my fingernails! I’d really have to be trying to injure myself horribly with it. The worst I could do is grind off a bit of skin or cut a finger, and it’s not like that doesn’t happen around here all the time anyway. I did, after all, just cut my finger yesterday on a pair of school scissors. The only way for me to avoid minor injuries is to lock myself in an entirely empty room and never do anything artsy-crafty again. Even in a completely empty room, I have no doubt I would find some way to give myself a bruise or two.
Now that I have rummaged through the whole house, I don’t feel like working on the tedious bit for the current canvas. It involves cutting out a bunch of paper pieces of the same size and shape. Boring! I think I’ll put the things I need to do that part on the couch so I will be inspired to work on it while I am watching TV tonight. And since I went a little crazy on the housework this morning, doing today’s list and most of tomorrow’s as well, I might just take tomorrow off from housework and do nothing but artsy stuff all damn day!
So, what to do for fun this afternoon? I haven’t sat down and played a video game in ages. I think that’s just the sort of escapist entertainment I need. Seems silly to waste an afternoon when I actually feel pretty damn good sitting on the couch eating cheese puffs and playing video games, but I did say I wanted to have fun today, and well … that would be fun. ![]()
But first I need to go check the mail and make sure the Dremel isn’t in my truck. If I find it, I will be working on that polymer clay thing I haven’t told you much about it. If I weren’t entirely too lazy, I’d just go to Home Depot and buy some sandpaper so I could get to work on it, but I am lazy. The Dremel will be faster, and we have to go to Home Depot this weekend anyway. No sense me stressing out about the traffic on IH-35 today when Lin can do the driving on Saturday, right? ![]()
