Bad Day - Good Day

Today utterly sucked. Nothing horrible happened, but the weather has just been awful. I got rained on more than once, it’s been cold and windy and nasty all day, and it looks like it’s going to get colder, windier and nastier overnight. Therefore, I have been achy and grumpy all day, and it looks like I will be getting achier and grumpier overnight.

I barely got anything done today, because it is so hard to get my butt in gear when it’s so cold and dreary. I’ve been moving in slow motion. I did manage to work in some arts and crafts time though. It gave me a good excuse to sit right under the furnace vent in the kitchen. After dinner, I might spend some more time puttering around with clay, paints, and markers. The canvas is still unfinished, far from finished actually, but it is coalescing in a good way. So far, I am pleased. And … I finally got a skinner blend to work right with the polymer clay. This led to making something cool to be used in another project (or perhaps the canvas — I haven’t decided yet).

So bad day for dealing with the mundane crap of life but a good day in my kitchen-studio. Can’t complain about a day when the art comes easy and is fun. Days like that don’t come around all so often anymore.

I’m going to finish my cup of Dr Pepper and go take a nice long hot shower, then it’s back to the kitchen to make dinner. There will likely be no more babbling from me today, because I will be going into hibernation mode as the temperature drops further. Hopefully this will be our last hard freeze and we can get on with spring from here on out. I am so ready for spring.
