There’s a reason I only go to eBay maybe once or twice a year. That reason is I am completely incapable of buying something. Not that I lose my mind, go crazy, and spend loads of money (not at first anyway). I still keep to my thrifty, thrifty ways. But … if I go to eBay, I will buy something, or at least bid on something, because there is just so much cool stuff on eBay, I want to own it all.

Yes, it’s true. I am an eBay addict. Not to much the buying of things, but the spending hours looking for just the right thing at just the right price, from someone I should find trustworthy. Addicted. And of course, there are all these distractions. I might be looking for Obscure Thing A, and come across an example of Obscure Thing B, and then I am off looking for the best bargain on both of them. And on … and on.

I found myself typing eBay in my address bar today in search of Cool Bento Things. I knew immediately I was in trouble. There are a lot of Cool Bento Things in the world. Naturally, being newly addicted to the utter cuteness of other people’s lunches and wanting my own cute lunches, I want one of each … please. Luckily, my inner bargain hunter is almost always in complete control, and I ended up only buying this (so far):

Uh huh, cute little sauce bottles. I need these like I need another hole in my head. But … you know … look at them! And I got them way cheaper than I would have anywhere else. Bargain! They aren’t the ones I really wanted (shaped like pigs), but these are actually so much more cute.

Now all I have to do is remind my inner bargain hunter that we are trying to make lunches for Lin, who will be seen eating them in front of persons working in the construction and engineering fields. OK, not “persons” … men. Men like Lin. Manly men. Cute little sauce bottles aren’t going to cut it, and I am just guessing, but I doubt Hello Kitty shaped boiled eggs would be too popular either. Which isn’t to say that Lin may not, in the future, open his lunch box and find just that. I’m evil that way. ;)

The Daily Show and Colbert Report are both reruns tonight, so I have about an hour before I have to be asleep. Time to poke around on eBay a little more. :lol:
