Just a reminder that occasional lapses in posting during the holiday prime-time of October through January are normal and to be expected at Just Orb.

Also to be expected is a grumpy, cranky, stressed-out, cynical, angry and often upset Orb, and that’s during a normal holiday season. The level of grumpiness, crankiness, cynicism, and anger that may be experienced during this time of year with a broken oven may, in fact, be completely unprecedented and off the scale.

I am attempting to live by one of the things my parents taught me: if you can’t say something good, don’t say anything at all. This will not continue to work. I anticipate ranting, screaming, and foaming at the mouth sometime within the next few days … or sooner if one more person related to me pushes just one more button.

My day isn’t going well. My weekend didn’t go well. My oven is still broken. My family is driving me insane.

In the event of extended silence at Just Orb, please imagine me sitting on some rustic tropical beach somewhere sipping a tall cool drink and eating lobster. That’s not what I will be doing, but it’s what I would much rather be doing. Imaginary Orb should get to lounge on a beach somewhere while Real Orb deals with the usual pile of year-end garbage … topped off by a broken oven.

This may be the year I finally decide that living in a death penalty state isn’t a big enough deterrent to killing someone. Or maybe I’ll just go lay down and take my millionth nap for the day. Naps make everything better … for a while.
