Went to the grocery store the long way and stopped at Hobby Lobby. They had exactly three colors of the Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn. I don’t mean they only had three colors left due to it being on sale. I mean there were only spaces and prices signs for three colors. Even worse, perhaps, is that none of the colors went together. I guess I will be looking elsewhere.

Oh, and they moved the yarn section again. Apparently the silk flowers and other household decoration doo-dads needed more room. Now what yarn they have is all on one and a half ten foot shelving sections. It’s almost all Red Heart and the crappy store-brand novelty yarns. Pretty damn pathetic.

Yes, once again I have gone to Hobby Lobby and walked out without finding what I was looking for (and it’s always common things) and bought nothing at all. Hobby Lobby still sucks. In another year, I expect it to be no more than a clone of Pier One with a small five foot section of shelving with an odd assortment of useless and cheap (though expensive) craft supplies.

Then I got to HEB, and it was insane. They were restocking, which makes it bad enough, but there was also a high number of totally stupid people shopping. Gah. Since I was surrounded by idiots blocking all the aisles when my phone rang, I broke one of my own rules by answering it and standing right there in the store having a conversation. Screw it. If you can’t beat them or avoid them, you might as well join them.

Even with all the insanity at the store, I still got done fairly quickly, if by “quickly” you mean an hour to get a mere twelve items. I am making a mental note that Wednesday mornings suck at HEB. So far the best time to shop seems to be early on Friday morning. Unfortunately, I sometimes need things before Friday.

Now I need to clean the kitchen, sweep the house, vacuum the rugs, clean the cat box, and then get busy with the roast and mini-cheesecakes. I’d like to take a nap to get rid of the throbbing headache I have, but it’s already noon. The day is vanishing, and I have a bunch of stuff I need and want to get done today.

Bah humbug.
