I have been working on my test site and poking around with things in the background, so I have been on my server a lot, and so seeing it doing it a lot. Last night it was really bad, so I checked the server status, and there's definitely something wonky going on. If it annoys me again today, I'll be sending support an email. I'm hoping it doesn't end up being a continual thing and meaning the look for a new host. My current one has been great so far, and damn I do hate moving my web site.
