The farmers market is Saturday again, so I was taking stock of what we have and what we need. We’ll need meat. That’s pretty much all we need. Maybe fresh salad greens and some corn or eggplant. Maybe. Technically speaking, I could make it through the week only buying meat, which makes it very tempting to just run to the grocery store on Monday and not bother with the cross-town drive Saturday morning. I’ll have to debate that choice today and tomorrow.
After staying up all night, I was going to take the day off to sleep, but I have found some kitchen things I have to do first. I need to freeze the leftover stew, roast and roasted veggie, and I need to cook the green beans and freeze them before they go bad. Well, half of them. The other half we’ll have at dinner tonight. See, don’t even get to take a day off from cooking, even when I have leftovers, because I need to use this fresh stuff before it goes bad. Dammit. Best laid plans, and all that.
Oh well, I better get to all that before my energy wears out and I get sleepy. For some reason I am super-wired this morning. I’m sure it’s a passing thing and I will be happily sleeping in a few hours. :)
