I need a swimsuit. Yes, summer is coming, and yet again I am trying to find a swimsuit I like and that fits me. I haven’t had any luck in past years, and I doubt I will have any this year either. My body shape is hard to fit with off the rack stuff, and while I do have the skills to make my own swimsuit any number of ways, it’s not really much cheaper than buying one, and it isn’t actually an easy thing to do. I’d rather not make one, in other words. I have better things to do with my existence that trying to wrestle with Lycra and elastic.

Last night Lin and I were talking about my need of a swimsuit, and it occurred to me that while I have owned many, many swimsuits in the past which fit just fine, it was the style of swimsuit that made that possible. I was always big on wearing thong swimsuits. Not always bikinis, but definitely ass-showing thongs on the bottom half. Therefore, fit wasn’t really any issue on the bottom half, which allowed me to be sure the top half fit perfectly. I am very much too different sizes on top and bottom. Lin said to just get a thong bathing suit then and be done with it. I told him I didn’t want to wear a thong bathing suit anymore.

He looked at me incredulously and said “But you have such a nice ass!” :blush:

OK, well I do happen to like my ass, and I think my ass wouldn’t look at all horrible in a thong. Also, I am not particularly freaked out about people seeing my ass in a thong bathing suit. But … when one is in their twenties and mostly single, showing off one’s ass is alright, while on the other hand, when one is in their forties and very married, wearing one in public is only going to attract the sort of attention I would much rather avoid at this point in my life. It’s not so much about modesty but more about “Yes, I have a nice ass, but my nice ass belongs to my husband, and I’d rather only field comments on it from him and not every random guy at the swimming pool.” :lol:

And so once again, I am on a search for a bathing suit. Last year I found one that fit reasonably well, but it was the most gosh awful print and color I had ever seen, so I passed it by. This year, if I find one that fits reasonably well, it can be any color at all. I’m tired of caring about the color. I just want to get as naked as possible and get out in the sun. :D
