The storms that blew through Texas last Friday were much worse than I thought at the time. I almost slept through it when it came through here, but being sick, all I really noticed was that the house was making that awful sound it makes when the wind gets a bit too high. Had I not been mostly unaware due to drugs and fever, I might have panicked. The next morning, Lin told me the news reported that some buildings had gotten torn up in South Austin, and I didn’t really think much more about it until Wildman (resident Just Orb commenter) sent me photos of the neighborhood up in his area that got hit (where some of his family lives). Wow. Haltom City really got hit hard, and by the looks of the devastation, I think it’s amazing there was only one death and a few injuries. My heart goes out to everyone involved.
