I don't even want to imagine a block party on this block. We all get along best when we don't speak to each other. We all seemed to get along when we first moved in, but then there was an argument about curbs, sidewalks and drainage being put in (still can't believe there were people against it). I think there was more to it than that, but being new to the block, I wasn't privy to the facts. Now, we just wave and smile at each other from out own yards. Except for the crazies next door who insist on making my life a living hell.

Lin isn't sure about the rock and cacti garden, but I think it would be great for low maintenance and it goes with the house too. Not to mention a few large, spiny, and well-placed cacti near the offending property line might make it more difficult for AB to amble about in my yard.

Yes, Vue would be great for designing a garden. I've been thinking of recreating the whole property as closely as possible and then going crazy with it. :D

Guess there is no chance of ablock party on your street, huh?

Our first house was a dreaded corner lot, small house, acres of grass! I hate lawns. Our sity place had a tiny lawn, still you needed to cut it. I still hated lawns. Our Nelson place had a small city lot and it was all garden, I loved it! Don't even own a mower! Hobbit Hall's curent incarnation actually doesn't have any property to speak of, so the garden is all in pots. This is the best. I water, that's it. Not even a weed to pull. Grass, that's what other people do all weekend.

I vote for cacti and desert coloured pebbles, suculents and a patch of ground cover. It's a pain to put in, but if you do it all at once with a backhoe and the trucks dropping the stuff off, you're done.

Of course, you could make AB a special bowl of chilli that would stop him for good and save the landscaping costs.

(Could you make your dream garden on Vue? Does it give you that kind of control?)

I've decided to stop putting up with it. I'm always so nice to people, even assholes, but I have had enough. Every time I step out either of my doors, there he is yapping about something. I'm just going to start being rude. I'm on my property, I can be rude if I want to be.

I would hate having them as neighbors. I wouldn't allow him on my property. Who does he think he is!? Pfft
