Sleeping Husband

Why is it I ask my husband, every night before I go to bed, what time he needs to get up in the morning, and every morning, I get up at said time, make coffee and then he doesn’t get up for another hour or hour and a half? Why?! Tell you what … tomorrow morning, he’s on his own. I’m sleeping in. Not even setting my alarm. He can make his own damn coffee.

And another question: How is it that my husband, the self-avowed morning person in the family, has begun hitting his snooze alarm more than I ever did … and I, the self-avowed non-morning person somehow manage to get up after the first beep of my cell phone?! Not that I am at all happy about it, not being a morning person at all. No, I am quite grumpy about being up at 6:30 am, especially in light of the fact that I don’t really seem to need to be awake at that hour. :puh:

I’d like to crawl back into bed. It’s a dark and damp morning, and my bones ache. I really need to spend the day making myself look and feel human for tomorrow evening, which means possibly dying my hair and definitely giving myself a manicure, pedicure and facial. Not to mention I haven’t put any thought into what I am going to wear. Something warm, to be sure. It’s supposed to be chilly and wet tomorrow night, and I already feel like I have a cold. Blech.

Well, Sleeping Beauty has finally arisen. I guess I’ll go be grumpy in the living room so he can enjoy it too. Nah … screw that. I’m going back to bed. I got ripped off about one hour of sleep by someone’s insistence he needed to be up at 6:30 am, when that obviously wasn’t true.

If this wake-up time misinformation only happened occasionally, I wouldn’t be complaining, but every day this week, he has gotten up a good hour after he said he needed to get up. The other day it was a good two hours! Yes, I am getting a bit sick and tired of it. I need my sleep too!
