For the last hour or so, as I have been doing dishes and other things, I kept hearing the kitties getting into something. More specifically, I heard them getting into the bathroom trashcan, one of their favorite activities. Knowing that as soon as I put the trash back in the can, they would only knock it over again, I did nothing more than call their names in my “angry voice” to let them know I knew they were up to something. It didn’t seem to be doing any good, as I continued to hear all manner of unauthorized cat activity noise coming from the bathroom. What I really couldn’t understand was why they weren’t tearing through the kitchen every few minutes. They rarely are in the same room for more than five minutes at a time unless they are eating or sleeping.
Then I went to the bathroom to take out the trash. The kitties had managed to trap themselves in the bathroom. Yes, they knocked the trashcan over, got a little too boisterous playing with used tissues (gross), and closed the bathroom door. All the other noise I was hearing? The two of them utterly destroying the bathroom. What was a new roll of toilet paper this morning is now a pile of shreds stuck to everything. They pulled almost everything out of the under-sink cabinet. They knocked everything on the counter onto the floor. Then … they apparently played with it all. It looks like a tornado went through the bathroom.
If they had just mewed, I would have gone to check on them, but they didn’t. What that tells me is … they were having fun being locked in the bathroom and it never occurred to them they were trapped. Little brats!
So now I get to add De-tornado the Bathroom to my list of things I have to do today before entering slug mode. Thanks kitties! :puh:
