Today was a very happy mail day. Very happy indeed! First off, no bills at all in the old postal box. That’s always a good day. Even better than no bills though was a box. You know what I say about boxes. Nothing bad ever comes in a box.
Once again, my theory holds true. This box contained goodies from New Zealand!

Speechless. Stunned into yarn lusting silence. Then, I touched it. I think my lower lip quivered … just a bit.
OMG!!! It’s the finest and softest merino wool boucle’ I have ever seen. Not that I have ever seen any merino wool boucle’ before, but I am certain this has to be the softest and finest ever. And the colorway? To die for. I have already been looking over patterns, and my mind is abuzz with ideas for what to knit with it. At the moment, I am leaning heavily to a tightly-knit, plain, short capelet, because I think it would best show off the yarn. But you know I’ll change my mind a few dozen times before I actually decide. :D
Also in the box were some paua shell bits, a nifty New Zealand pen (don’t laugh when I tell you think is the only pen I now own), and some NZ coins … and a wonderful note from Kenno and Janno, who are the wonderful creatures who have spoiled me totally rotten on NZ wool. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! :sweety:  :sweety:
I am soooo spoiled. Yes, I am.
I’d like to babble on and on about the yarn, but alas, my head exploded about five minutes into our Dear Leader’s speech tonight, and I have to go glue my skull back together and take some aspirin. Really, listening to that man say ANYTHING makes my head hurt. I’d like to babble about the speech tonight too, but I’ll spare you that pain, for now. ;)
Behind the cut is another photo … one of many I caught while trying to get one kitten-free shot of the goodie box. As you’ll see, it isn’t at all kitten-free.

Yes, they love it too. They love it just a WEE bit too much. I’ll have to put the new yarn in an out of the way, kitten-inaccessible location. Good luck, right? :D
