With Lin home all the time, every day feels like Sunday, which means very little gets done around here. It’s beginning to get annoying.
I pulled out my soap-making stuff yesterday, and unfortunately I discovered I am missing a crucial ingredient. Ugh. I could get Lin to drive me all over town to look for some, but instead, I’m just going to order it from my usual supplier. With gas prices the way they are, our bank account the way it is, and the fact we could drive everywhere and still not find the stuff, it just makes sense to order it.
Aside from doing some housework once Lin deigns to get out of bed (must have stayed up late last night — I didn’t), I don’t have any plans at all today. Plenty of time for crafty things (knitting) and playing with the annoying little kitties. :)
Speaking of kitties, the little brats are on some new rampage schedule. One day of sweetness and laying about followed by one day of extreme insanity and terror-making. Sounds just like a teenager, yes? They are both still growing into wonderful cats. Both of them get more affectionate all the time, and I love it!
Ronin is still doing Ronin type things … running around at full speed and leaping across rooms in a single bound, but Myu’s big thing at the moment seems to be a love affair with Fuzza’s urn. I’m not kidding. She is constantly getting onto the Fuzza Memorial Shelf, curling up around the little black urn, and just LOVING on it … rubbing all over it and licking it and purring so loudly you can here her across the room. It’s a little weird.
A few days ago she pulled Fuzza’s old collar off the shelf and started playing with it, so I decided to put it on her to see how she’d react. She lost the ability to walk. It was hilarious. She acted like the collar was weighing her down so much she couldn’t possibly move. Then I put it on Ronin to see his reaction. He freaked out and spent a good ten minutes fighting with it and being way too cute while doing so. They better get used to the idea of collars. We plan to get them some, and since they have started to show interest in running out the front door, we are going to have to do it soon. I want to be sure that should they get out everyone knows these furry babies have owners and all their shots.
What I really should do today is work on my mom’s computer. Lin finally located the Windows 98 disc, so there’s no reason to put it off and every reason to get it done ASAP. My mother finds some excuse to call every damn day, but her real reason is to pester me about her computer. I know she missed it, but I didn’t plan to come down with a nasty cold last week, and working on a computer while under the influence of cold medications is probably not a good idea.
How’s my cold you ask? The cold has been gone for a few days now, but thanks to the mild weather and the rain we got, the cedar pollen count (as well as mold spores) is through the roof. I didn’t even get a chance to clear the snot out of my head from the cold, and now I am having to deal with Cedar Fever. At least that doesn’t really make me feel sick, but I am getting so tired of blowing my nose and hacking up gobs of gross mucous. I’d really just like to be able to breath normally again. Is that too much to ask?
I guess I’ll play a game or two on my computer and then settle on the couch for some knitting. Surely Lin can’t sleep ALL day, and then I can get noisy with the housework.
