Now that the batteries for my camera have recharged, let me show you the end results of all that knitting and felting.
The Moebius Bowl turned out pretty cute. There isn’t anything in the photo to give you an idea of scale, but it’s about 5″x4″ (just guessing). At least it didn’t shrink oddly and looks like a bowl, but I’m not happy with the way the Fisherman’s Wool felts. It pills and gets too fuzzy. I may have to shave this one at some point. Maybe I’ll do that if I decide to dye it.

The felted purse, on the other hand, was a fiasco. This yarn felts strangely, and even though I made it wider and taller than the last one, it shrank up WAY to short to use as a purse. I am more disgruntled about this than I am letting on. Basically, it ended up being a bowl too. It’ll go into the pile of things that haven’t worked out quite right and need to have something done to them. I might add more knitting or maybe some fabric to the top, using the bowl part as the bottom of the purse. We’ll see. I’m done with it for now and don’t want to work on it for a while.
In the meantime, until she outgrows it, Myu thinks it makes a snuggly little kitty bed. :)

Moebius, now I get it, couldn’t really se it in the other shot. Very nice. Ever read Godel, Echer and Bach? Bet you have!
Yes, I have read it! :D
Escher, for the record, is one of my all-time favorite artists. Just pure genius.
Today’s knitting show is going to be on Fibonacci knitting. I’m curious to see what they do with the Fibonacci sequence, because I have already been playing around with it a little myself. Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Ratio have always fascinated me.
For as much as I proclaim a hatred of mathematics, I sure am interested in it.
Fibonacci knitting. What can I say? There is clearly more to this knitting stuff than I ever expected. Shows to go you, never under-estimate a woman with two sharp points in her hands! (Not that we ever would, mind you.)
For the record, I can’t wait to see the Escher Scarf! You know, on the left side it’s fish that morph into birds on the right side. How cool would that be?
Still reading or did you leave already to start making it? Wait, I was going to tell you about an old girlfriend that made me a Dr. Who scarf that was so cool it… Na, she’s gone, I can hear the clicking… …some people take up a hobby, Orb takes the master’s degree… …it’s inspiring really… Fibonacci knits, most people would think it’s Italian designer knock-off… …should I mention that if MS has stopped supportng 98, then so can Orb? No, and stop typing your thoughts out loud.
