I think I am declaring it finished, but I’m going to sleep on it first. I’ll exchange this photo for a better lit one tomorrow. There is just NO decent lighting in this house for photographs of paintings.

I added a little more yellow to the leaves, and then declared it done. I have ended up loving it.
Mom looked at it today and said it needed something in that open area near the center, and I stated that it didn’t. She said “Well, it’s like you are looking off into nothing!” Yes, exactly. The blank spaces on a canvas, to me, have always been the spots that are filled with the viewer’s thoughts and ideas and visions. Everyone who looks at it can see something else that belongs there. Nothing I could paint there would match up with what anyone else thought should be there (I like the space, myself), so it’s left to the imagination. At least, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. :lol:
And thanks for reminding me I need to drag it outside tomorrow and take a photo in good lighting. :D
