I need more canvases. No more of those canvas boards either. I want real stretched canvases. I used to love the boards, but I think I am done with them and ready to move on to something else. I also need a large brush for doing washes … and varnish. Methinks a trip to an art store is in order, when the budget can handle it.
I am going to have to get some canvases of some sort soonish though. I think … I think, maybe … I am finally over whatever it was that was holding me back on the painting. I’m having ideas, but I have no fresh canvases and no gesso to paint over one of my unfinished works to make it a fresh canvas. Ugh. Tomorrow maybe I’ll run to Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon and get one of those two packs of Fredrix student quality canvases. They sort of suck, but after all these years, I’m pretty used to painting on student quality canvases. I might even go ahead and get canvas boards, being as they are really dirt cheap (especially with a coupon).
There’s so much I feel like saying right now, because I am simply FEELING so much right now, but … I haven’t slept, and it’s time to make Lin’s coffee. After a few hours of snooze-time with the kittens, maybe then I can put into words what’s in my heart and mind at the moment. To sum it up poorly:
I think my muse is really back this time, and I think I can finally be happy with my work. I certainly hope so. It’s been a long dry spell of artistic unhappiness.
I can’t believe I finished a painting in two hours. That’s just crazy for me Little Miss It Takes Years to Finish a Painting!
