Ever wonder how book banning works in Malaysia? I’m certain you probably haven’t, but it’s interesting to hear how the process works. Book banning is completely ridiculous no matter what process or system is used, but this one seems especially silly and arbitrary, though the potential jail term for owning an actual banned book is far from silly … up to three years in prison and a rather hefty fine.
Can you imagine going to jail for three years for owning Lady Chatterley’s Lover or an issue of the Taiwanese version of GQ magazine? Yeah, me either. :ugone2far:
