Ack! Ronin!

ACK! ACK! ACK! The kitten invasion in the kitchen is worse than I thought! I had no more than hit the post button on the previous post, gotten up and walked into the kitchen, only to find this!

There are no stools or chairs close enough for him to use as ladders. There’s no way he could have jumped from the dining table to the counter without making a lot of noise running into the coffee maker that is still sitting right up front and on the edge. Somehow, he managed to get on the actual counter space without making a sound. Not even a thump. Not even a chink of the dishes sitting in the drying rack. No sound at all! How is he doing this?!?!
I think I may have to fire up the old computer today and get the old web cam working so I can catch how he’s doing it. He knows I am paying close attention to his activities now, and so he’s not going to do it again. Smart ass little cat!
Don’t think Princess Myu never gets in trouble. She’s just not a jumper, and she’s not too crazy about heights, but she will creep and crawl into any tight dark space she can find. Yesterday that was the space between the shoe boxes Lin uses for storage on his workbench shelves and the wall. I don’t ever expect to find her jumping on counters. She’s becoming a pudgy cat, and as such, isn’t much into extreme physical activity, but she finds all sorts of ways to get into things she shouldn’t.
Great … we’ve got a sneaky creeper and a crazy jumper. We are DOOMED!
I have to share this bit of conversation with you between Lin and I last night after we pulled the kittens off the pink foam-board protecting the AC/heating unit for the billionth time last night:
Lin: The kittens don’t rule the house. We rule the kittens!
Orb: Oh yeah. You just keep telling yourself that.
I don’t know where Lin got the idea that our house was still ours. It is quite obviously the kittens’ house, and it has been since the moment we brought them home. I just hope they continue to allow us to live here. ![]()

i know it’s evil, but i had to laugh at that picture. kitties have a knack for figuring out where you don’t want them, and then showing up there all the time. ^_^;
Oh I laughed too. I laughed every time I pulled him out of the sink today. Tomorrow … the web cam goes up with motion detection set to cover the whole kitchen. I still haven’t caught him in the act. I swear he waits until I am in the bathroom or checking the mail or talking on the phone, and then somehow he really quietly teleports himself onto the counter.
