Finally Friday

How is it that no one impressed upon me the fact that I should see the movie V for Vendetta? Did no one I know see it? Or did everyone I know see it and hate it? I’m just wondering, because Lin ordered it from our DVD club, it arrived yesterday, and I watched it last night … and I loved it so much, I am looking forward to watching it again tonight with Lin. Really though, how the heck is it a movie that is just the sort of thing I love to watch managed to slip completely under my radar for so long?!

I’ll tell you what I am looking forward to right now: getting the short list of household chores done so I can lay down and vegetate. Let’s see, it’s still August, and lookie … Aunt Flo is visiting yet again! Three times in one month is not fair. I am officially putting my body ON NOTICE: get on with this menopause thing or behave normally, please. :

I love V for Vendetta. Joe and I went to see as a free preview down here and I ended up at the theater three more times to see it with various other friends. I think EVERYONE in America should have to watch it…

Aside from being well-written and an excellently produced movie, the message behind it is extremely valid. I agree everyone should watch it, but I don’t know that everyone would “get it.” I’m not even sure how I missed it when it was in the theaters, though spring was a little crazy around here. I remembered hearing about it coming out and some people getting bent about a terrorist being a hero. I didn’t really know what to expect when we sat down to watch it, and it blew me away. Classic British political thriller, and at the moment, my favorite movie.
