The Endless Sweater - Almost Done

All the knitting it finished on The Endless Sweater! All that’s left is working in the loose ends, single crocheting around the neck and armholes, and then washing and blocking it. I finally got to try the damn thing on, and it fits perfectly! I am so thrilled to be almost done with this project, I’m going to go ahead and post a photo of it with loose threads dangling and edges all rolled up … because I can’t wait another minute to show it off, and I am not inclined to work on it anymore today. Though I might do just that. Being so close to finished, I am fired up about getting it ALL done.

Looks like it was worth the effort.

After all these months of fretting over that sweater, I have to say … glad I went through with it and didn’t give up (which I wanted to at several points). I could have bought a sweater almost like it for what I spent on yarn (and let’s not even think about the hours spent working on it), but the real payoff is two-fold. First I have the pleasure of knowing that I made it myself (and it turned out great), and then there’s the fact that a $40 store-bought sweater can’t even compare in quality to the one I made. This thing isn’t going to unravel or get nasty after one season of wearing it. It’s built to last. If I take good care of it, it’ll probably outlive me.

I say I won’t do anymore sweaters, but I’ll probably change my mind about that. Yes, it was tedious, a little boring at times, and took forever to get done, but … the end product is really worth it!
