Poo. I just got an email from Livejournal reminding me that my paid account expires in a few days. Time for that big decision again … keep a paid account or let it expire. While it probably seems to any viewers of my LJ that it’s just a mirror for my web site, I actually use it quite a bit as a private personal journal. There’s no easy way to make posts at my web site that are for my eyes only and find them again when I want to read them, so I have always just used LJ for that. I suppose I’ll wait until the very last day to decide, and I’ll probably decide I can’t live without all the stuff you get with a paid account. I always do, it seems.

I also noticed that Fantastico is telling me it has the newest update to Wordpress and that I should upgrade. It’s just a click of a button, but naturally, I am terrified that it’s going to hose something on my web site. I haven’t completely hacked this version yet, but I did add more smilies, and I can never remember which file it is that I changed to do that … so that will get broken until I figure it out again. Oh well, I guess I’ll hit the upgrade button (after hitting the backup button), and if it breaks, it breaks. I’ll just have to fix it then, won’t I? At least it will give me something to do.

UPDATE:

Decided against upgrading the main site. I upgraded my test site, and it broke ten ways to hell. Going to wait until I actually feel like fixing anything that breaks.
