Quiet Morning

Woke up feeling like working on some digital artwork. Since I don’t have any software on the Mac for doing anything creative and won’t for quite some time now thanks to the vet bill, I sat at the old PC. Ugh. I can’t even use it anymore. It’s not even just that I have the time to tap my fingers and toes waiting on it to do the simplest things, though that is annoying. No, I mean I can’t USE it. I have already forgotten how to close windows, where things are, and basically I feel completely lost … as lost as I did when I first sat down at the Mac. My tablet and pen feels like some sort of foreign object too. It appears that my transition to being an Apple user is complete. That’d be just great if I had any software for doing anything on the Mac, but it’s only use in my life at the moment is doing email, surfing the ‘net, and organizing music and photos. Oh … and playing chess. Sort of seems like a waste of a good computer.

Yes, I am a little whiny this morning. Can’t exactly blame the cat for getting sick and sucking up my software money, but that doesn’t mean I have to be thrilled about it. I think I am allowed to be a little pouty.

Speaking of the cat: He loved the duck and pea food he had yesterday. So far, he has turned his little nose up at the rabbit and pea this morning. He’s laying on the floor beside me right now, and his tummy is grumbling. Picky cat. If he hasn’t relented to at least try the stuff on his plate by noon, I suppose I will open the venison and pea and see if that suits him better. At least he liked the duck, and I am happy to report that while every other weekend I would, by this time on Saturday, be running around cleaning up after the cat, so far … no vomiting or diarrhea. In fact, there was a perfectly normal poo in his box when I got up. I think we are onto something here. I’m hoping this continues. I’d love nothing more than to go back to the vet’s office on Tuesday and get him eating the duck and pea regularly and have that solve the problem. Wouldn’t that be grand?

I don’t know what’s on the agenda for the day. It’s a nice long holiday weekend, and spending money is sort of out of the question. I’d sort of wanted to go see a movie or two. I’ve been really interested in going to see The Da Vinci Code, Art School Confidential, and X-Men: The Last Stand. I really, really want to see Art School Confidential, but it’s not the sort of movie we usually go see in a theater. Theater attendence is usually reserved for high action movies with gobs of special effects … the sort of thing that really NEEDS to be seen on a big screen at least once. Maybe we’ll go see a movie anyway. Or maybe we’ll just lay around the house like slugs and snooze with the now somewhat happy cat.

I’m going to go do last night’s dishes and straighten up the living room. Lin will be getting up soon, and he’s going to want breakfast and coffee. Then we can look through the calendar of what’s going on in town today. There might be something fun and free to go do. There’s always something going on in Austin.

And for the Fuzza fans, a photo of the poor, poor kitty … taken just this morning.
