Stormy Weather

High winds, heavy rains, large hail … tornado warnings, flash flood warnings. It’s been something of an exciting day in central Texas today.
But hey, at least it was 100 degrees outside, right?
As you can imagine, I didn’t get any grocery shopping done today. Mostly I was parked in front of the local weather channel and talking on the phone with family members between storms (to make sure they were all doing OK — they were) … though I did seek refuge in the hall twice when the wind and hail started to worry me a little.
No new damage to the house, but Lin got caught in the thick of it out in the middle of nowhere and his truck has a few new dings. He’s not at all happy about it, but considering that when he called me to ask how long he was going to be stuck cowering in his truck there was a reported funnel cloud almost right on top of him, I think a few hail dings is a minor problem.
I have to go call Mom and check on her one more time (she was really freaked out earlier) and let her know Lin is home and nothing horrible happened to us either.
